CDEC will be hosting a conference for secondary schools, to share practice on approaches to teaching and learning in the new KS3 citizenship curriculum, focussing on: identity and diversity; critical thinking and enquiry; topical and controversial issues; community cohesion; pupil voice. The day will provide; * input from teachers and students of six secondary schools, who have been developing and trialling approaches to teaching about Identity and Diversity - living together in the UK, within the revised KS3 Curriculum * a chance to explore good practice in creative teaching and learning approaches, with input from six secondary schools who have been using creativity to address global and sustainable development issues. The event will result in the collation of case studies and good practice ideas, drawn from participants and contributors, in order to develop schemes of work to share with secondary colleagues. This conference is FREE to any teachers from Cumbrian secondary schools, with no restrictions of up-take per school, and one supply-paid place is available for every secondary school.
