The Big Global Learning Conference – is going ahead!

Join us at Rheged, near Penrith, on Monday 5 March at 9.15am for what will be a fabulous day of learning, sharing expertise and reflection on where next for global learning, with school children involvement too. The worst of the weather should be over and the roads clear (fingers crossed!).

Inspirational speaker Alison Hooper

Passionate global learning advocate and headteacher Alison Hooper will be our key-note speaker. She will be sharing her experiences of integrating global learning into her own Cheshire primary school in the context of the challenges schools and teachers face today.

Alison’s school is a GLP expert centre and she has developed a network of 40 partner schools and is in an ideal place to inspire us to develop our own network. You can learn more about Alison and her work on this video.

Practical and valuable workshops

Experienced global educators are joining us to lead some fantastic workshops. Through the day, you will have the chance to attend three of the following sessions:

  • Gender Equality Globally to Locally
  • Start the Change: linking peace-building projects in school to the SDGs

The future of global learning discussion panel

At the end of the day, our expert discussion panel will take your questions on the future of global learning and how we can develop our network in Cumbria in particular and in the north in general.
