We are looking for dedicated Discovered Stories, Shared Community Project Officer/s to join our team!

CDEC is delighted to be recruiting for a new post for a new project starting in early 2020. 

The new post/s is the Discovered Stories, Shared Community Project Officer with an ideal start date of February 2020 but the organisation will be flexible for the right candidate/s. CDEC is also keen to explain that they will consider two post holders to split the project by location.

The project and therefore the project officer will be based at CDEC's Ambleside office, with the successful applicant being prepared to travel to community locations in Barrow and to the West Coast.

Job Description

The post holder/s will be responsible for delivering a new project for CDEC: ‘Discovered Stories, Shared Community’ (DSSC). It will be delivered in 2 distinct areas: Barrow-in-Furness; and Whitehaven/Workington. The post holder/s will be responsible for the successful delivery of this 2 year project. They will work closely with CDEC colleagues on the delivery of key elements of the project, as well as building positive relationships with project participants and local partners. 

The overall aim of the project is to enable all community members,  both ‘New Cumbrians’ as a result of migration and existing Cumbrians  to find their voices, develop the connections that bring them together and build their community as a place of welcome.
