CDEC has met with practitioners from some nurseries and family centres in Carlisle and Kendal this term, as part of this AWAZ Cumbria project, to explore welcoming ways of working with little children and their families arriving from other countries who have English as an additional language.
We also explored how the setting, toys and activities can be inclusive and promote diversity of cultures. We would like to run a repeat of these afternoon workshops again next term, as well as extend our work with Primary Schools in Carlisle and South Lakes, so do please get in touch to register your interest! debbie@cdec.org.uk
