Throughout Cumbria, CDEC is well-known in the education sector for offering high-quality, up-to-date teacher training in and around global learning and global citizenship.
We are also local advisers to the British Council and DfID's Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning programme, for which we are also official suppliers of training. Find out more about how you can get involved.
CPD, Inset teacher training and our group training programme
Through CPD, Inset teacher training and our group training programme we support teachers, other education practitioners and professionals wishing to embed the global dimension and values-based teaching and learning into their curriculum or organisation. The ultimate aim is to ensure Cumbria is a beacon for global citizenship.
Whether you are looking for a twilight Inset session after school, a whole-day course for your organisation or an open course for one or two colleagues to attend, we are confident that we will be able to help you find what you need to support your staff.
Support to embed practice throughout your organisation
We aim through these training sessions to support you to embedding practice and methodologies throughout the school curriculum and organisation culture.
Here at CDEC, we pride ourselves in being able to adapt to your school's needs. We can run any of our courses specifically for your school or organisation or as a group. If you are interested in whole-school training or want to train with other schools and teachers in your area, take a look at our group training programme. It offers you an introductory planning meeting, three two-hour courses and a final 'where next' round-up session at a discounted rate.
