Volunteer with Us

Volunteers contribute a huge amount of time and effort to keep CDEC here so that communities, schools and businesses benefit from global learning.

We will welcome you as one of the team

Volunteer opportunities range from being a trustee and helping with the governance and strategic role that trustees play, to general office support; from assisting with projects to keeping the resource box loan system running.

We post our current volunteering opportunities on this page as well as on social media, so like and follow us to find your CDEC volunteer position!

Being a trustee

Our dedicated and supportive trustee team are all volunteers with a passion and strong motivation to develop CDEC and global citizenship within Cumbria. Some have an education background, whilst others come to global learning through other routes. The trustees meet on a bi-monthly basis. A core group, some with specific roles, meet more often.

We are always interested to hear from individuals who would like to play a significant strategic role in CDEC as a trustee, particularly if you have a secondary education, commercial or corporate social responsibility background.

If you think you would like to be a CDEC trustee and would like to talk to the current chair of trustees, please call the CDEC office or drop an email to office@cdec.org.uk and they will pass you on.
