Youth Practitioners’ Forum

Youth Practitioners’ Forum

Aug 5, 2025

Would you like to introduce more climate action into your work with young people? You and your young people are invited to join us for a Climate Fresk workshop and conversations about climate action you can take.

As part of the lottery-funded Zero Carbon Cumbria project, CDEC are working with Futureproof Cumbria to support networking and information sharing amongst organisations working with young people on climate change. We are inviting anyone who works with young people and has an interest in incorporating some (or more!) climate action project elements into your work to join us at:

Carlisle Youth Zone // Wednesday 27th August // 9.30am - 3pm (lunch included)

Climate Fresk is a powerful, interactive workshop that transforms complex climate science into clear, easy-to-understand cause-and-effect relationships - helping participants explore how everything connects, why it matters and what action is needed.

This three-hour session uses a hands-on, visual approach to unpack the science behind climate change and spark meaningful conversations about solutions. It’s collaborative, engaging, and designed to empower people with the knowledge and confidence to take action.

After lunch, you'll have the chance to share your experiences of your work with each other, including your successes and challenges. You'll also hear about new and upcoming opportunities, including the Cumbria Climate Assembly; and how you and your young people can get involved. We've started putting together a padlet of resources, activities and ideas - if you have anything you'd like to share in advance of the forum, you can do so at this link.

This Youth Practitioner Forum is being planned to also include young people: do you have young people you work with who would like to be part of the Climate Fresk training and other conversations? Then please do let them know about the opportunity to come along and connect with other young people.

Please fill in this short form to let us know:

  • if you can attend and whether you'll be bringing young people, or
  • if you cannot attend this time, but would be interested in a similar session at a later date or in another part of Cumbria
