The National Education Nature Park is a project empowering children and young people to make a positive difference in their schools’ outdoor spaces by enhancing biodiversity and protecting green spaces for nature and for the future.

Funding was available for selected eligible schools last year, and we helped some schools in Cumbria complete their applications and make a plan to improve their school grounds. A new round of funding has started and 18 schools in Cumbria are on the list for this year. They are:
- Barrow Island Community Primary School (Barrow-in-Furness)
- Black Combe Junior School (Millom)
- Brisbane Park Infant School (Barrow-in-Furness)
- Brook Street Primary School (Carlisle)
- Derwent Vale Primary and Nursery School (Workington)
- Flimby Primary School (Maryport)
- Hindpool Nursery School (Barrow-in-Furness)
- Inglewood Infant School (Carlisle)
- Inglewood Junior School (Carlisle)
- Kells Infant School (Whitehaven)
- Newbarns Primary and Nursery School (Barrow-in-Furness)
- Orgill Primary School (Egremont)
- Ormsgill Nursery and Primary School (Barrow-in-Furness)
- Pennine Way Primary School (Carlisle)
- St. Bridget’s CofE School (Whitehaven)
- St. James’ CofE Junior School (Barrow)
- St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School (Whitehaven)
- Valley Primary School and Nursery (Whitehaven)
