This year's Youth Climate Summit was hosted at Furness Academy in Barrow and made possible with funding and support from National Lottery Community Fund, Cumbria Community Foundation, Westmorland & Furness Council, Futureproof Cumbria and Zero Carbon Cumbria Partnership.

15 schools (122 children and teachers) from all across the county came together to share their climate action projects with each other, learn new skills and make pledges for the coming year.

The summit is also an opportunity for the voices of young people to be heard by decision-makers in their communities and the event itself is planned, designed and delivered by young people.

CDEC and partners are proud to facilitate the summit - it is vital that young people feel they have agency in their environment and over the future.

Work has already started on planning Youth Climate Summit 2026.
