Wild Garsdale Pike is a youth-led environment project set on 200 acres of high land in Garsdale, Cumbria. The project offers you the opportunity to explore conservation issues and strategies with experts and to work with the trustees to make positive, practical, research informed, changes to the land.

By joining our Youth Steering Group you’ll have the opportunity to discuss and work with likeminded people, learn practical skills, gain an understanding of our land and the wider landscape, make a real difference to your local environment, support wildlife and the natural world, get stuck into making practical changes and enjoy this beautiful place!

We are different to many volunteering opportunities because, as part of the group, you have ownership of the project - both the decision making and the practical implementation. You can stay with the project for as long as you want and we hope you’ll stay involved to see the effects of the changes we make.

Our six trustees all have experience and skills that are vital for the project - including conservation and survey work, teaching, research, governance, and lots of enthusiasm for making positive change. We also work with lots of other experts and local groups.
